Archiving Policy
The International Journal of Legal Studies, Institutions, and Governance (IJLSIG) is committed to ensuring the long-term availability, accessibility, authenticity, and integrity of all scholarly content published by the journal. Digital preservation is conducted to protect published articles and metadata against data loss, technical failure, or platform changes.
Purpose
The International Journal of Legal Studies, Institutions, and Governance (IJLSIG) is committed to ensuring the long-term availability, accessibility, authenticity, and integrity of all scholarly content published by the journal.
Digital preservation is conducted to protect published articles and their associated metadata from data loss, technological failure, security incidents, discontinuation of the journal, or changes to the journal’s publishing platform.
Publisher-Managed Preservation
PT Darma Cendekia Pustaka, as the publisher of IJLSIG, maintains backup copies of the journal’s database, uploaded files, published articles, and relevant system configurations.
The minimum backup procedures include:
- Database backups at least once every twenty-four hours;
- Full backups of uploaded journal files at least once a week;
- A separate backup copy stored outside the main journal server at least once a month;
- Additional backups before any major OJS update, server migration, or system modification; and
- Periodic restoration tests to verify that backup files remain functional and can be recovered.
Access to backup files is restricted to authorised personnel responsible for journal administration and information technology management.
Version of Record
The final version published on the IJLSIG website constitutes the official Version of Record.
Published articles will remain permanently accessible on the journal website. Any post-publication correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other amendment will be linked transparently to the original article in accordance with the journal’s Retraction and Correction Policy.
The original bibliographic information, including the article title, authorship, volume, issue, year, page range or article number, and DOI, where applicable, shall be preserved.
External Digital Preservation
IJLSIG intends to participate in the PKP Preservation Network, LOCKSS-based preservation, or another recognised digital preservation service after the journal fulfils the relevant technical and administrative requirements.
The journal shall only state that its content is archived by an external preservation service after the service has been properly activated and the deposit status has been verified.
Until external preservation has been confirmed, the journal’s digital preservation is maintained through the publisher-managed backup system described in this policy.
Institutional and Subject Repositories
Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in:
- Institutional repositories;
- Subject-based repositories;
- Personal academic websites;
- Government or university research repositories; and
- Other lawful, non-commercial scholarly platforms.
Self-archiving is permitted immediately after publication without an embargo period, provided that:
- The journal’s published version is used;
- The original publication in IJLSIG is properly acknowledged;
- Complete bibliographic information is provided;
- A link to the official article page or DOI is included, where available; and
- The terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) are observed.
Metadata Preservation
IJLSIG maintains and preserves article metadata, including:
- Article title;
- Author names and affiliations;
- Abstract and keywords;
- Publication date;
- Volume and issue information;
- References;
- Licensing information; and
- DOI or other permanent identifiers, where applicable.
The journal may distribute this metadata through OAI-PMH, indexing services, libraries, repositories, and scholarly databases to improve discoverability and support long-term preservation.
Journal Discontinuation
If IJLSIG ceases publication, PT Darma Cendekia Pustaka will make reasonable efforts to:
- Maintain continued public access to previously published content;
- Preserve the journal website or a static archive of published content;
- Transfer the archive to a trusted institutional repository or digital preservation service; and
- Maintain links to corrections, retractions, and other post-publication notices.
The discontinuation of new issues shall not result in the removal of previously published scholarly content.
Review of This Policy
This Archiving Policy will be reviewed periodically in accordance with technological developments, OJS requirements, and recognised standards of digital scholarly preservation.
