Article Processing Charge
The International Journal of Legal Studies, Institutions, and Governance (IJLSIG) is committed to maintaining a transparent and affordable publication process. The journal clearly discloses all applicable publication charges and does not permit any undisclosed payment during the editorial or peer-review process.
Submission and Peer-Review Fees
IJLSIG does not charge authors any fee for:
- Article submission;
- Initial manuscript screening;
- Peer-review processing;
- Manuscript revision; or
- Editorial decision-making.
Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting a manuscript or while the manuscript is undergoing editorial assessment and peer review.

The publication charge shall only be requested after the corresponding author has received an official Letter of Acceptance from IJLSIG. The payment of this charge does not influence the editorial decision and shall not be interpreted as a payment to obtain acceptance.
The publication charge contributes to the costs associated with:
- Copyediting and language checking;
- Article layout and typesetting;
- Online publication;
- Preparation of article metadata;
- Journal website and OJS maintenance;
- Digital archiving and preservation; and
- Publication administration.

- Transfer the publication charge to the official corporate bank account stated above;
- Include the manuscript identification number and the corresponding author’s name in the payment reference, where possible; and
- Submit proof of payment through the OJS platform or the journal’s official email address.
Any bank transfer or administrative charges imposed by the sending bank shall be borne by the author.
The article will proceed to the copyediting, production, and publication stages after the journal has verified the payment and received all required publication documents.
Editorial Independence
The editorial and peer-review processes are conducted independently of any financial consideration. Editors and reviewers shall evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, and compliance with the journal’s scope and publication policies.
Reviewers shall not be informed of the author’s payment status. No editor, reviewer, or other individual acting on behalf of IJLSIG may request payment from an author in exchange for a favourable editorial decision.
Waiver or Reduction
An author who is unable to pay the publication charge may submit a written request for a waiver or reduction after the manuscript has been accepted and before making payment.
Any waiver or reduction is exceptional, is not granted automatically, and is subject to the written approval of PT Darma Cendekia Pustaka. A request for a waiver or reduction shall not affect the editorial decision regarding the manuscript.
Refund Policy
A refund may be granted in the event of duplicate or erroneous payment or where the journal cancels publication for reasons not attributable to the author.
The publication charge is generally non-refundable when:
- The author withdraws the article after copyediting or production has commenced;
- The article has already been published; or
- The article is retracted after publication because of plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, copyright infringement, or other misconduct attributable to the author.
Any refund request shall be submitted in writing to the journal and will be considered by the publisher based on the circumstances of the case.
Changes to Publication Charges
Any future change to the publication charge will be announced transparently on the journal’s website. The amount applicable to an article shall be the publication charge stated at the time the article is formally accepted. Any change shall not be applied retroactively to an article that has already received a Letter of Acceptance.
Complaints
Any complaint concerning publication charges, payment requests, or suspected fraudulent payment instructions may be submitted through the journal’s official contact details and will be handled in accordance with the IJLSIG Complaints and Appeals Policy.
