About the Journal

The International Journal of Legal Studies, Institutions, and Governance (IJLSIG) is an international, peer-reviewed, Gold Open Access journal published in English by PT Darma Cendekia Pustaka, Indonesia. Established by academics and legal practitioners, the journal addresses the persistent gap between law as formally enacted, law as applied, and law as it ought to be. Moving beyond purely descriptive analysis, IJLSIG provides a rigorous forum to evaluate how legal norms operate in practice and how public and corporate institutions can be reformed to uphold the rule of law, justice, and accountability.

IJLSIG examines legal issues across normative, theoretical, institutional, and practical dimensions. Its scope encompasses legal theory, statutory enforcement, constitutional and administrative governance, judicial performance, legislative design, and future legal development (lex ferenda). Recognizing that legal norms cannot function effectively without capable and transparent institutions, the journal strongly encourages scholarship that critically assesses institutional authority, inter-organ dynamics, and public policy responsiveness to societal, political, economic, and technological changes.

Grounded in the constitutional aspirations of Indonesia, IJLSIG aims to elevate national legal discourse while actively integrating comparative, international, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Believing that legal scholarship carries a vital public responsibility, the journal welcomes original research articles, empirical studies, and theoretical analyses from scholars, judges, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide, connecting Indonesian legal scholarship with the broader global academic community.
